Hyatt Regency Bali

Placemaking

Dating back to 1973, Hyatt Regency is one of the most treasured destinations on the Sanur beachfront. At the close of an extensive renovation that began after over 40 years of operation, the hotel reopened its doors in late 2018, ushering in a new era for the property. Along with substantial enhancements to its overall guest experience, the refurbishment also introduced a redesign of its environmental designs and graphics, which we were assigned to execute.

The result is a charming element of the hotel that contributes to its quaint nature and rich history. Borrowing inspiration from its architectural feature, the signage and wayfinding takes on a three-dimensional shape of a pyramid that is similar to the property’s physical structure. Subtly tapered from all four sides, the distinct and unique shape create for an added character.

Features of the property continue to influence the design. To accentuate the traditional experience that it prioritises to offer, flowers in its landscaping, namely Hibiscus, Frangipani and Bougainville are turned into patterns that signify the different clusters of villa and became a visual language seen throughout the property.
